CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Post 60 moved to 8-4 in Section 1 play with a 16-4 rout of Great Bend Monday night.

Valley City scored eight runs in the top of the fifth and held for the shortened-game victory.  They scored seven in the top of the first to get the night started, and racked up 14 hits in the game.

Jaden Keys drove in five runs on a 2-3 night.  Josh Magnuson launched a three-run homer on his lone hit, and Spencer Meyer was 2-4 with a grand slam.  Austen Meyer and Brett Stearns each picked up two hits.

Austen Meyer earned the win, allowing three earned runs on six hits, striking out four.

Valley City is in third place in the section, trailing Wahpeton and Kindred.  They are 11-16 overall, and face Wahpeton on the road tonight.
