(NewsDakota.com) After two losses in a row to Section 2 competition, the LaMoure Post 19 American Legion baseball team finished the regular season on a high note as they were able to cruise over Ellendale Post 13 10-0 in five innings on Friday night at Townsend Field.

LaMoure took an early 2-0 lead at the end of the first inning thanks to three hits; a triple, double and single. Ellendale had a chance to tie the game in the top of the fifth but stranded two runners in scoring position. Post 19 broke it open big in the fourth inning; putting across eight runs on just five hits. Every batter for LaMoure with the exception of Chris Heinrich on scored in the fourth,

Tanner Carlson earned the win for Post 19, going all five innings; surrendering two hits and striking out seven. Donovan Flaherty was the losing pitcher for Post 13 with three and a third innings work allowing eight earned runs on seven hits.

Post 19 (8-4) will be the #2 seed for the Section 2 tournament which starts on Wednesday in Wishek. As the #2 seed, Post 19 will play the #7 seed Ellendale (0-12) at 12:30 p.m. in the opening round of the tournament.
