(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes Babe Ruth baseball team continued their impressive 2012 season by picking up a pair of wins in the first two round of the District 6 tournament in Steele over the weekend.

The number one seed in the tournament, Oakes (16-0) took care of #8 Lisbon in the opening round; winning with ease 12-0 on Saturday. On Sunday, Oakes kept the shutout streak in the tournament going with a 6-0 win against Valley City.

Oakes plays in the semi-finals of the double elimination tournament on Monday against the #2 seed Steele (13-3). If Oakes picks up the win, they will play for the District 6 Championship on Tuesday and will have two chances to win the title and advance to the State Tournament in Casselton next week.

First pitch between Oakes and Steele is set for 12:30.
