(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown College has their man, Justin Wieck is the new men’s basketball coach for the Jimmie men. Wieck was introduced to the media this afternoon at the Reiland Fine Arts Center.
Wieck takes over the program after Matt Murken left to take the job at Minot State about two weeks ago. Wieck spent last season as the assistant coach at Northern State in Aberdeen.
He also worked in the Big Ten as the video coordinator and on-campus recruiting coordinator at the University of Iowa. Wieck played two seasons for the Hawkeyes as a walk-on after time at Kirkwood Community College.
Jamestown College made the NAIA National Tournament last season on their way to 27 wins. All five starters from that squad are gone, four to graduation.
Jimmies open their season in just over two months, October 16th against the University of Brandon (Canada).
