(NewsDakota.com) The season for the Carrington Babe Ruth baseball came to a screeching halt on Monday as they fell 10-0 in six innings to Grafton at the State Class B Babe Ruth Baseball tournament.

Carrington already had won two previous contests to stay alive in the tournament, but Grafton’s pitching of Jaron Lunday was too much for Carrington to handle. Carrington registered just three hits throughout the game, and only one man, Brady Smith, reached second base. Lunday went all six innings, and walked one batter while striking out two. Smith, Alex Jarrett and Patrick Freeman had the only hits for Carrington.

The State Class B Championship Series is set for Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. with Oakes going up against Grafton, after Grafton beat Kindred 4-1. Oakes needs to win just one game, a loss by Oakes in game one will force a winner-take-all matchup for the State Title around 3:30. Coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/FM 95.9 and NewsDakota.com starts at 12:40.
