(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council has tabled a loan request to use Economic Development money to help a new business in town.
At its Monday meeting, the council tabled the request until its next meeting in September. The Jamestown-Stutsman Development Corporation had recommended the money for a Cherry Berry frozen yogurt store that is looking at locating in Jamestown in the former Master Bakery building.
Up to $54,000 in Economic Development funds would be used for a Flex-PACE Interest buy down, which would reduce the interest on the loan Cherry Berry would need to get started. The money would eventually be repaid to the JSDC. The city’s share of the money is $43,200.
The city council tabled the request to gather more information, including looking through the results of a survey conducted by the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce.
