N.D. (AP) — The owners of a Mandan business have been convicted of conspiracy to sell synthetic marijuana.

A jury convicted William Nickel and Ryan Zueger of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

A sentencing hearing has been set for Oct. 30, when they could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

Judge David Reich dismissed the same conspiracy charge against Casandra Nickel, an employee of Big Willies smoke shop.

In a written statement, Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says the verdict sends a message that officials will find and prosecute people who are selling the potentially fatal synthetic drugs.
