Scheffert, 71, of Guelph, ND, died August 28, 2012 at the Oakes Community Hospital, Oakes, ND.

Harold was born May 8, 1941 at Le Sueur, MN, to Harry and Edna (Moldenhauer) Scheffert. He attended school and graduated from Guelph in 1959. After graduating, Harold purchased a farm 2 miles from where he was raised. He married Madella Meidinger on February 21, 1968. Harold was active in farming and raising cattle up until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Madella; children, Steven (Tracy) Nicholson, Stirum, ND, Elizabeth (Bill) Fromm, Campbell, CA, Kimberly (Steve) Ketterling, Oakes, ND, Harold (Gail) Scheffert Jr., Guelph, ND, and Harvey (Gloria) Scheffert, Oakes, ND; one brother, Clyde Scheffert, Ellendale, ND; two sisters, Hazel (Ken) Eberle, Lisbon, ND and Carol (Gerald) Rodine, Oakes, ND; 15 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Harold was preceded in death by his parents.

A prayer service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 9:00 a.m at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes, North Dakota. Following the prayer service, there will be burial at 11:00 am, at Ellendale City Cemetery.
