(NewsDakota.com)  In 9-man Region 1 football action on Friday night (Oct. 12th), the LLM Loboes defeated the Richland Colts 46-14.  The Loboes needed to win in order to advance to the playoffs this coming weekend October 20th.  The Loboes improve to 7-2 overall, and the Colts drop to 5-4 overall. 

LLM dominated the entire night, the Colts were trying to play catch-up right from the start.  At the 9:54 mark in the first quarter, Lamoure-Litchville-Marion’s Senior QB Jared Meiklejohn threw to Anthony Olson  for a 50-yard touchdown pass, the Loboes went for two making it 8-0.  On the ensuing drive, the Colts QB Matthew Workin threw into the end zone but LLM’s Anthony Olson was there for the interception, so the Loboes started first and ten at the 20 yard line.   The Loboes took full advantage of the turnover, as they drove 80 yards for the score.  The last play was Meiklejohn on the keeper making it 16-0.

With four seconds left in the first, Richland got a spark from JR running-back Kayne Griffith, he took it in from 12 yards out making it 16-6 at the end of the first quarter.  In the second quarter there were three touchdowns scored, all by the Loboes.  Starting running-back Brady Thielges for the Loboes had two of the three, one just at the start of the second quarter from a yard out.  The second was about six minutes later from 13 yards out making it 32-6 LLM.  The last score of the first half was Meiklejohn to Olson again, this time it was a 60 yard touchdown pass making it 40-6 Loboes.

Both teams would score in the fourth, Kayne Griffith for Richland got his second touchdown of the game scoring from two yards out.  Then Thielges for the Loboes got his third TD of the game from six yards out making it 46-14 the final.

Next up for LLM Loboes is undefeated Region 2 team New Rockford/Sheyenne at New Rockford on Saturday, October 20th for the first round of the playoffs. 

New Rockford/Sheyenne is the No. 1 seed from Region 2 at 8-0.

Lamoure-Litchville-Marion is the No. 4 seed from Region 1 at 7-2.
