(NewsDakota.com)- The Blue Jays hadn’t lost a WDA match in over a month, but when they took the floor against Bismarck Century we didn’t see a team overrun with confidence following their long streak. The Patriots jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after winning the opening two sets, they would go on to win 3-1 (25-19, 25-14, 15-25, 26-24).
Jamestown rallied in the third set and played one of their best sets of the season. Everything was going right, they were aggressive and role players like Billie Buchanan, Hannah Heilman, and Jenna Stilwell took their play to the next level.
The Jays blasted Century 25-15 in the third. In the fourth, they held a 23-19 lead and appeared poised to force a fifth set. However, the Patriots scored seven of the last eight points to win the match.
With the loss, the Jays now need to win on Tuesday to lock up the WDA’s number two seed. Century will be the tournaments top-seed.
Jays travel to Mandan on Tuesday to take on the Braves. Match is set for 7pm.
Dakota Country KQDJ 1400 will broadcast the Jamestown games in the West Region tournament coming up next month.
