(NewsDakota.com) – Valley City State and Jamestown College both made quick work of Dakota State Friday night during college volleyball action at the Hansen Center in Jamestown.
The Vikings defeated Dakota State in straight sets to likely secure a spot in the A.I.I. Postseason Tournament, 25-17, 28-26, 27-25. The win improves the Vikings to 14-19 on the season and should secure the sixth and final spot in the A.I.I. Postseason Tournament. Final rankings will be released on Monday.
The Vikings host South Dakota School of Mines today at 4 p.m. at Graichen Gymnasium for their final home match of the year.
Jamestown College also downed Dakota State in straight sets, winning 25-11, 25-12, 26-24. Jamestown improves to 23-6 on the season and is No. 2 in the A.I.I. rankings. Top six A.I.I. teams make the postseason tournament in Mayville, and the top two teams at the tournament qualify for the national tournament.
Jamestown is on the road at Black Hills State and South Dakota School of Mines next weekend to wrap up the regular season.
