Carlson, age 85, of LaMoure, ND, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley at the St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.

Lloyd Willard, son of Jens and Helen Carlson was born May 30, 1927 at Oakes, North Dakota, where he grew up and attended school. Lloyd served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1947. After his discharge he returned to the area, and began employment with the Ottertail Power Company in Oakes in 1948. In 1950, Lloyd moved to LaMoure to be the manager in the Ottertail office there. He married Corinne Sandness of LaMoure, on June 24th, 1951; and they were blessed with three children, Jeffrey, Brian, and Patricia. Over the years, they made their home in LaMoure, Denver, Colorado, and Deadwood, South Dakota, before returning to LaMoure. Corinne passed away on September 16, 2010, and Lloyd continued to make his home in LaMoure. Lloyd was an active member of Zoar Lutheran Church, and he was also a member of the El Jebel Shriners.

He is survived by a son, Brian (Dee) Carlson; daughter, Patricia (Scott) Pickar; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ann) Litton, Greg (Lindsay) Litton, Samantha Litton, and Tess Pickar; and two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Finn Litton. He is also survived by three sisters, Mary (Rex) Corliss, Bernice Rudisill, and Virginia Tillar; and a sister-in-law, Inez Carlson.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Corinne, a son, Jeffrey Lloyd, and a brother, Don Carlson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Lamoure. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Zoar Lutheran Church, LaMoure, with burial to follow at High Prairie Cemetery near LaMoure.
