(NewsDakota.com) Those who vote in Dickey County on Tuesday will be presented with one countywide measure for a yes or no vote.

The issue at hand deals with county 9-1-1 fees. Currently, the monthly fee for 9-1-1 in the county runs $1 on any “communications connection” within the county; which includes land line phones, cell phones, voice-over-internet protocol service connections, or functional equivalents that are uniquely identified by number, internet address or other designation.

A “Yes” vote on the measure would up the fee 50 cents to $1.50, while a “No” vote would hold the fee at $1.

If the majority vote in favor of the measure, the fee will go into effect the first of December, and will further maintain and operate the county’s emergency services.
