CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Once it’s completed it there will be a new million National Guard facility in Valley City along Interstate 94.

Col. Steve Tabor says the maintenance facility will nine times bigger that the current structure. Ground breaking is set for the spring of 2015 for the maintenance facility.

Meanwhile, Tabor says construction for the Ready Response Center it tentatively set for 2020 or 2021.

As mentioned the lions share of the project is federally funded but a portion of the 1 percent Valley City sales tax used for economic development, property tax relief and image enhancement will also be used to help fund the project.

Construction plans and funding for the National Guard facility was released during a news conference Friday in Valley City.

Members of the Valley Development Corporation say with the National Guard Construction and John Deere manufacturing plant expansion both projects combined total a $50 million investment.
