CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) 9th Avenue Northwest is now open to motorists in Valley City after the first phase was completed Friday.

Project manager Chad Pedersen said permanent signing is scheduled to be completed Tuesday. He said general cleanup will be on-going over the next week but disruptions to traffic should be minimal.

The new street lighting for Phase 1 is scheduled to be completed later this month. The final phase of the 9th avenue northwest paving improvement project is scheduled to start in the spring of 2013.
