CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) North Dakota Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor Ellen Chaffee questioned Governor Jack Dalrymple ethics of accepting campaign contributions from oil companies over an oil development project in Dunn County.

According to a news story in The Forum, on Nov. 1, Dalrymple and members of the Industrial Commission approved of a project for oil development in the Little Missouri State Park. Some 170 Dunn County residents want a grand jury to decide if Governor Dalrymple’s acceptance of campaign contributions from the oil industry may be considered bribery.

Dalrymple told KOVC radio news that the accusation against him and other members of the Industrial Commission is politically motivated and baseless.
Public Service Commission candidate Brad Crabtree also questioned why his opponent Randy Christmann and Public Service Commissioners Kevin Cramer and Brian Kalk accepting campaign contributions from oil and coal companies being they serve on a regulatory board that makes decisions for or against those companies.
