CITY (NewsDakota.com) – After more than a week off, the Valley City State men’s and women’s basketball teams are back in action Sunday on the first of two road trips over Christmas break.

The Viking men and women square off at Northern New Mexico on Sunday night, and then take on Johnson and Wales in Denver, Colo., on Tuesday. Both schools are members of the Association of Independent Institutions, as is VCSU. The teams will play again in Valley City in January.

The Viking women are 8-1 overall and rated No. 17 in the latest Top 25 poll. The VCSU men are 8-2 and rated No. 15 in the poll.
