N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In light of the recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, Jamestown Public Schools Superintendent Bob Toso spoke briefly Monday about ensuring the safety of Jamestown Public Schools.
Toso says there are already measures in place within the JPS system with the utmost regard for safety in mind, including drills that are completed during the course of the year for both students and staff.
He says he will be meeting with JPS administrators and the JPS School Resource Officer on Wednesday to discuss continued safety measures.
He also says the school resource officer position is an asset to the school district — a person everyone in the school system can go to in regards to safety concerns.
