CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner wrestling team showed well at their annual tournament Saturday in Valley City.

The Hi-Liners placed fourth out of 16 teams, and put four wrestlers in the finals.
Valley City scored 157.5 team points. Fargo North won the team title with 181 points. Grand Forks Central was second and Jamestown third.

Valley City’s Shane Undem won an individual title at 160 pounds. Head coach Aaron Larson says it is the third time in his career that Undem has won this tournament.

Reed Beckman at 145 pounds, Zach Doty at 170 pounds and Jordan Magnuson at 182 pounds all advanced to the title match before placing second.

Jamestown had four individual champions at the tournament en route to their third place finish and 170 team points.

Paxton Mewes won the 113 pound bracket; Jaden Horsted won 132 pounds; Zane Braun was first at 152 pounds; and Ethan Gumke won for the Blue Jays at 182 pounds.

Valley City also had a trio of third-place finishers: Cole McGough at 106 pounds; Mark Miller at 138 pounds; and Taylor Johnson at 152 pounds.
