N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Seventeen minutes in between the pipes was all that Jamestown Blue Jays head coach Brad Schaack needed to see from his captain and netminder Carissa Finck at home on Tuesday night en route to the Jays’ 6-1 win over Devils Lake.
With the victory, the Jays extend their winning streak to 4 games and improve to 7-1 overall this season. The Firebirds drop to 1-7 overall on the season, with their lone win coming back on Dec. 8 against winless Dickinson.
Senior Steph Kamlitz led the way with back-to-back goals in the second period. The other four goals throughout the contest were posted by Amber Schaack, Brenna Pritchert, Haley Hillstrom and Larissa Wiest.
Schaack’s goal was her 11th on the season, giving her the 2nd most in the state behind only Hayley Walsh of West Fargo’s 13.
Sophomore Ally Dion relieved Finck in goal, and stopped all but one shot in her 34 minutes of time between the pipes.
The Jays are off until back-to-back games at Crookston on Dec. 27 and 28.
