(NewsDakota.com) North Dakota Highway 1 near the North Dakota/South Dakota state line in rural Dickey County was closed for around an hour and a half Thursday afternoon after a single vehicle accident spilled granular fertilizer onto the highway.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 62 year old James Mooney of Hillsboro was driving south on Highway 1 near the State Line when he drifted into the west shoulder of the roadway while entering a curve in the road. Mooney over corrected, and rolled his truck and trailer along the highway, spilling granular fertilizer.

Traffic flow was not a problem and easily diverted around the scene on nearby roads. Mooney was taken to Oakes Community Hospital for his injuries. He was charged with Care Required, and the crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
