Agatha Marsolek, 88, of Wimbledon, ND, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Agatha was born on September 12, 1924, in Strasburg, ND, the daughter of Kasper and Clara Gross. She attended school in Kintyre and Lehr, ND. Agatha worked in Jamestown at Ebertz Café and later the Dutch Lunch. She met and married Ralph Marsolek on June 11, 1946 in Kensal, ND and they made their home on a farm west of Courtenay, ND. Agatha worked in Wimbledon at the City Bar and later for Charlie Sizer at CM’s Place for 30 years. They moved from the farm to Wimbledon in 1987 and she retired from CM’s at the age of 85. She delighted in visiting with her biker friends, friends, playing cards, collecting dolls and toy cars. Agatha was the matriarch of her family and loved having them around.
Agatha was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Women’s Auxiliary, and the Wimbledon Senior Citizens Center.
Agatha is survived by her children, Kathleen (Jerry) Pierce, Carrington, ND, Phyllis Schuldheisz, Courtenay, ND, Carol (Lonny) Lee, Jamestown, ND, Clarence (Deb) Marsolek, Courtenay, ND, Diane (Larry) Lee, Jamestown, ND, and James Marsolek, Jamestown, ND; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 4 brothers, Eugene (Donna) Gross, Fargo, ND, Valentine (Delores) Gross, De Smet, SD, Peter Gross, West Fargo, ND, Joe Gross, San Jose, CA; and one sister, Irene Janke, Ellendale, ND.
Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Wimbledon, ND with Father Al Bitz officiating.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown and one hour before the service at the church.
Vigil: 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Deacon Tom Geffre officiating.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND, at a later date.
