N.D. (KFGO News) – Another effort to include the term “sexual orientation” in North Dakota’s Fair Housing Act and Human Rights Act has emerged. The bill would extend basic protections in the home and workplace to members of the gay community.

Fargo attorney Tom Fiebiger introduced a bill in 2009 when he was a state senator that would have added sexual orientation to the list of banned discriminatory practices.

The bill passed the Senate but failed in the House …

Fiebiger is hopeful the bill will pass this time. He says the bill has bipartisan support and the legislature is in “a different place” than it was four years ago.
