(NewsDakota.com)- The WDA’s leading scorer, Kyra Dewald, had 31 points to lead the Blue Jays, but it wasn’t enough as they dropped their second straight. The Mandan Braves used their 1-3-1 defense to force 17 first half turnovers to pace a 73-66 win.

Mandan jumped out of the gates with the first nine points and lead wire-to-wire. Courtney Goetz and Lexi Goldade each had double-digits in the first half as the Braves built a 16-point lead.

Jamestown was able to close to the gap in the second half to four. Dewald’s hit five threes, including three in the second half. The Jays had three possessions once they were within four, but were unable to get any closer.

Mariah Fredricks hit three of four free throws in the final minute to close out the victory.

Paige Peterson and Billie Buchanan each had nine for Jamestown as they fall to 6-4 on the season. The Jays will host Bismarck on Saturday for a 5:45pm tip-off.
