(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School girls basketball team goes for four wins in a row on Thursday night when they make a quick trip over to Forman to battle the Sargent Central Cadets in District 1 play.

The Tornadoes, 6-5 overall and 2-1 in District 1, have not lost since January 19 when they were on the road in Groton South Dakota. Since then, the girls have picked up wins against Leola/Frederick South Dakota, F-C-T and most recently, LaMoure-Litchville/Marion last Saturday.

The Cadets are at the bottom of District 1 with a record of 1-4 in the district and a 5-6 overall mark. Sargent Central has a new head coach this year in Mark Quenette, who was last a head coach at Oakes High until he was let go two years ago and replaced with current coach Caitlyn Wojahn. Quenette spent last year as an assistant in Ellendale.
