N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Seven in a row. That’s the the winning streak the Jamestown Blue Jay girls basketball team is on following an 86-35 thrashing of the Williston Coyotes on Saturday at home.

Coach Andy Skunberg’s squad improves to 13-4 overall and 11-3 in the WDA, keeping them firmly in second place.

Four Blue Jays scored in double figures, including Kyra Dewald with 17 points, McKayla Orr with 16, Paige Peterson with 14 and Billie Buchanan with 10.

Meanwhile the Blue Jays boys have now dropped 11 in a row after a crushing 65-58 defeat at the hands of Williston — all despite carrying a 12-point lead into halftime and holding a 14-point lead early in the second half.

Jamestown led 43-31 after the first 18 minute session, but gave up a 12-point run to the Coyotes early in the second half.

Sophomore Nick Fuchs had arguably his best game of the season with 18 points in the defeat.

The Blue Jays will have two more doubleheader home games versus WDA opponents to round out the regular season, including Tuesday vs. St. Mary’s and Thursday vs. Dickinson.
