N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Construction for a new Barnes County North School near Leal is on pace to be completed this summer so students can attend the new school this fall.

Superintendent Doug Jacobson said a centralized school will better serve students and save money for the school district in the long run.
Jacobson said the school district hopes to gain a few new students with the future construction of a Bio Fuels Plant in Spiritwood.
The new centralized school is being constructed through a building authority after a school bond vote failed three times over a one year period back in 2011 when a super majority of 60 percent failed by just 3 percent.
