(NewsDakota.com)- For the first time in school history the Valley City State men’s basketball will be heading to the NAIA National Tournament. They picked up the 10th at-large bid so they finished two spots off the cut line.

This the is fourth 20-win season for Coach Jeff Kaminsky and the Vikings in the last six years, but non of the prior seasons ended at that National Tournament.

VCSU finished in the No. 24 spot of the latest poll after a 0-1 weekend where they dropped their first of three games to Dakota State in the A.I.I. semi-finals.

The Jamestown College Jimmie women moved up to No. 12 in the poll after winning the A.I.I. Conference Tournament Title. They earned a No. 3-seed last year when they were ranked in the 12 spot.

The Mayville State women also earned their first tournament bid when they grabbed the final at-large slot. The Comets finished 20-5 when they lost in the national qualifier to VCSU.
