CITY (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City State junior Darien Moore won his second national title this weekend during the 2013 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Moore won the national title in Weight Throw with a toss of 20.14 meters, or 66 feet, 1 inch. He bested second place by almost two feet to claim the title. He also took fifth place in shot put with a throw of 56 feet, 4 3/4 inches.

Moore, from Bakersfield, Calif., won the hammer throw national title during the 2012 outdoor championships.

According to the VCSU athletics web site, Moore has now been named an All-American (Top 8 ) six times in his career at VCSU. Those All-American honors have come in indoor and outdoor shot put, weight throw and hammer throw. Moore also holds the school record in all four events.
