N.D. (AP) – The Legislature has approved a measure that will provide funding to help identify North Dakota veterans exposed to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War.

The Senate voted Monday to approve the bill. North Dakota’s House approved the measure earlier. The measure provides at least $75,000 to the federal Department of Veterans Affairs.

American troops sprayed Agent Orange as a defoliant during the Vietnam War. Dioxins in it have since been linked to cancer, birth defects and other disabilities.
