(NewsDakota.com) If the start of the Class B Region I schedule was any indication of how this shortened season is to play out, this promises to be a wild ride.
Daniel Lindgren’s sacrifice fly to center field scored Colton Huus to give the Enderlin/Maple Valley Falcons a 6-5 victory in 11 innings against LaMoure-Litchville/Marion on Tuesday.
The game started out well for the Loboes (0-1 Region I), with a run scored by Kenny Hodem on a throwing error by Falcon catcher Grant Lindemann. The Falcons (2-2 Region I) answered in the home half of the inning with an RBI from Spencer Gillund scoring Lindgren.
In the third, the Loboes added another three runs, two of which were driven in by Jared Meiklejohn on a triple. The Falcons responded with two in the bottom half of the third, and scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead thanks to a two RBI triple by Lindgren.
LLM tied the game in seventh with an RBI double from Kenny Hodem, but the Falcons won it in the 11th, with Lindgren’s sacrifice fly.
Gillund earned the win for the Falcons striking out 10 batters after hitting the mound in the seventh inning, while Meiklejohn took the loss. Next up for both teams are contests with Central Cass. EMV hosts Central Cass on Thursday, while LLM hosts Central Cass and Kindred/Richland on May 7.
