(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School track and field teams qualified their first two members for the the State Class B Meet during the OJ Meet at Wapheton on Tuesday.

Blake Hollingsworth qualified for state in the 100 meter dash by finishing third with a time of 11.13 seconds, and Nicole Warren will compete at State in the Javelin as she qualified Tuesday with a throw of 121 feet 9 inches, finishing second at Tuesday’s meet. 

As a team, the Tornado boys finished with a team total of 44.83 points, good enough for eighth out of the 11 teams competing, while the girls from Oakes racked up 34.875 points to take seventh place.
