(NewsDakota.com)- The state golf tournament began today at Dakota Winds in Hankinson and the course lived up to its name, with windy conditions on the wide open course.

Jamestown is currently in 9th place with a team score of 338. The Jays were in seventh after nine holes, but struggled to keep up the pace.

Nick Blaskowski is currently five shots off the lead with a 80. Jakobi Lux had a front nine score of 40, but carded a 45 on the back nine.

Valley City’s Jared Lentz is currently tied for 35th with an 85. He shot a 46 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine. He is five shots outside the Top 10.

The final round is Wednesday.
