(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown Post 14 opened up their 2013 season with a match-up against the defending South Dakota Class B Champions from Groton. A dramatic seventh-inning led Jamestown to the first win and then Riley Schaffer put the clamps on in the second game.

Joey Gebhardt singled in the winning run with two-out in the bottom of the seventh off of Groton ace Jamie Jorgenson to give Jamestown a 4-3 win. That was preceded by a Jorgenson two-run homer that tied the game at three in the top of the inning.

Post 14 scored two of their runs on two-out hits, Brady Anderson drove in the games first run with two outs in the third inning when he brought in Landon Weiser from second. Weiser also drove in a pair of runs with a single in the fourth.

Schaffer allowed just one run in the night cap as Jamestown won 3-1. Schaffer who redshirted at VCSU this spring got his first win going the distance.
