N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Some lawmakers are reacting strongly to comments University System Chancellor Ham Shirvani is making about his time on the job.

Shirvani also claims that he has gotten e-mails with racial slurs and profanity telling him to leave. House majority leader Al Carlson says Shirvani should not be throwing fuel on the fire.

Carlson and Fargo Senator Tony Grindberg have been pushing to completely replace The Board of Higher Education. Grindberg says it isn’t clear to him why Shirvani is making such negative comments, especially while he’s still on the job.

Shirvani will be getting 925 thousand dollars as a part of his contract buyout.
