DAKOTA (NewsDakota.com) – The head of the North Dakota National Guard says it’s likely Governor Dalrymple will be asking for a second Presidential disaster declaration to deal with flooding.

Adjutant General David Sprynczynatyk says the declaration that was already approved dealt with flooding from spring runoff in eastern North Dakota. He says the damages from those floods totaled six million dollars.

Sprynczynaytyk says if the declaration is approved, FEMA would pick up 75 percent of the costs to repair the damage to public infrastructure – and the state and local share would be 25 percent.

The declaration would cover 14 counties in northern and eastern North Dakota.
