N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Lawmakers in the U.S. House could take up proposals for a new Farm Bill sometime next week.

The House proved to be the stumbling block in getting a new Farm Bill last year as Representatives argued over the depth of cuts to food stamp and other nutritional programs included in the bill.

North Dakota Farmer’s Union President says the lack of a new Farm Bill has created problems for farmers and ranchers.

Barth says the Senate version of the bill is a good start, but he’s hoping some adjustments can be made once the House passes its version and the bill goes to conference committee.
