(NewsDakota.com)  Carrington Post 25 was back in action tonight against Section 2 Lisbon.  Both teams came in with a 6-3 Section 2 record, Carrington needed a win to possibly get the number two seed for the Section 2 Tourney on July 24th.  But Post 7 had a strong pitching performance by Derek Lyons who threw a two-hitter and helped Lisbon defeat Carrington by 10 run rule in six innings, 10-0.  Carrington Post 25 drops to 15-9-1 overall, 6-4 in Section 2.  Lisbon Post 7 improves to 12-6 overall, 7-3 in Section 2.

Lisbon Post 7 came out strong right from the get-go.  In the bottom of the first inning, Lisbon sent 10 batters to the plate, scored six runs and had four hits.  Post 7 was led by Derek Lyons, going 3-for-4 with two triples and an RBI.  Tanner Bittner was 3-for-4 as well with three RBI.

Carrington’s only hits were by Peter Henson in the first and Marcus Hewitt in the fifth.  Derek Lyons for Post 7 threw 64 pitches, had eight strikeouts, no walks but hit one batter in the fifth inning, he has not allowed a run through 35 innings pitched this year.  Patrick Freeman took the loss for Post 25, going four and a third innings.  Logan Clifton relieved him.

 Next up for Carrington Post 25 will be this Thursday, July 11 at Carrington City Park against the Jamestown Blues, first game will be broadcast on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com starting at 5:15pm pregame.
