(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes Post 36 American Legion baseball team came out firing on all cylinders on Tuesday night as they earned a 16-4 five inning win against Ellendale Post 137 at Cummings Field.

Post 36 never trailed in the contest; as they scored the first 11 runs of the game with Post 137 not breaking through until the fourth inning. 

Oakes (4-6 Section 2) was lead by Cole Kelly on the mound, who threw four innings, allowing eight hits and striking out one. Ellendale’s (0-7) Wyatt Heine was the losing pitcher going just three innings, allowing 11 runs on seven hits with one strikeout. Ethan Zetocha had two hits and scored four runs for Post 36, Carter Zetocha scored three runs.

Post 36 will host Lisbon Post 7 next Tuesday.
