CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City/Barnes County Development Corporation approved ,000 to establish a movie theater in Valley City.
Director of Development Jennifer Feist said, “a movie theater is one of the critical core businesses a community really must have to be seen as a viable community similar to a recreational swimming pool and other amenities. A number of parties have expressed interest; however, the investment is significant. By making this contribution, the Corporation is optimistic one or more parties will step forward. She said, “our goal is to have a solid plan in place including private investments yet this year.”
Feist said, the $50,000 community investment reinforces the Development Corporation’s commitment to growing the community. She added that funds can be used for any related project investments including leveraging the Bank of North Dakota’s Flex PACE Program, an interest reduction program. The Bank of North Dakota will provide a maximum of $100,000 as a grant under Flex PACE.
