(NewsDakota.com)- The Jamestown College Jimmie women’s basketball team has inked another North Dakota recruit for the upcoming season. Grand Fork Central’s Talyor Hammer, who was second in the EDC in scoring, will join the Jimmies in the fall.

Hammer was an all-state selection and the Grand Forks Herald’s Athlete of the Year after averaging 17.2 ppg and 10.6 rpg for the Knights in 2012-13.

“We are very excited to have Taylor join the Jimmie family,” said head coach Greg Ulland.

The Jimmies, who made a run to the NAIA Round of 16 for the second straight season before losing to Eastern Oregon, will have to replace the trio of Bridget Schuneman, Amber Ramlo and Kayla Roemmich inside.

Hammer will join returners Jessica Buck and Megan Pold along with newcomer Arie Stokes to try to fill those shoes.

Hammer’s sister Courtney is the JV coach for the Jimmies.

Jimmies open their season October 18th at the Mayville Classic.
