(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure Post 19 Baseball team played one of their best games offensively and defensively all season long; the result was a convincing 5-1 victory against Hazen on Friday afternoon in the third round of the State Class B American Legion Baseball Tournament.

LaMoure came out firing in the first inning with three runs on five hits. Brady Thielges started the offense with a lead-off double off of Hazen’s Nate Leintz. Kenny Hodem, Tyler Thielges, Beau Diegal and Devin Piehl each added a hit in the inning to give Post 19 the early lead.

From there, it was solid defense for LaMoure, as they turned three double plays in the contest, and Diegal earned the win with five hits and one unearned run. LaMoure added another run in the second and fifth innings to pad the lead.

Leintz was the losing pitcher going four and a third innings, allowing seven hits wile striking out two. Leintz scored the only run for his team in the second inning.

LaMoure now plays at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon against Cando. Coverage starts at 2:15 on Q101.1FM and NewsDakota.com
