N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It is a site that held one of the fiercest fights between Indians and White Soldiers in North Dakota in 1862. It is now celebrating it’s 150th birthday.

“The Whitestone Hill State Historic site is a hidden gem in North Dakota.”, said Diane Rogness, Historic Sites Manager for the State Historical Society of North Dakota.

Everything is set to kick-off at 9 AM on Saturday, August 24th. With Kevin Locke opening the ceremonies at 9, a speaker panel talking about the preservation of Whitestone Hill’s past, present and future, and a delicious buffalo supper to end the days events, it’s sure to be a grand time.

People can view the museum, walk the battlefield and learn all about the history of the Whitestone Hill Battlefield every day May 16th through September 15, Thursday through Monday. Admission is free.

If you’d like to take part in the Buffalo Supper, RSVP is required. Call Diane Rogness at 701-328-3508 to RSVP or for more information about the event.
