CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) About 150 people are attending the North Dakota Recreation & Park State Convention in Valley City this week.

Valley City Parks & Recreation Director Tyler Jacobson says Mark Fenton, a nationally acclaimed authority on transportation, planning and public health will meet with Valley City Civic leaders for a walkabout audit to observe both challenges and opportunities for healthy eating and physical activity that can inspire a community.

Fenton a motivational speaker who works with communities around the nation to help them build environments and programs to create places where more people can walk and bicycle to become healthier.

Fenton presents ideas on how to design a community to help its people become more physically active.
