N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – This Sunday, the Jamestown Arts Center will be hosting the 49th Annual Exhibit Reception at the Fine Arts Center.
This year, the JFAA Annual Show will be on display. The show is a delightful mixture of color, texture, subject and style. It is an opportunity for fledgling artists to mingle with professionals and experience having their art in an exhibition.
This year there are a total of 44 artists from 17 different towns and three states. There are 89 pieces on display. The largest category of submitted works is Photography, which is evenly split between black and white and color. Most of the photographs are digital. The second most prevalent category is painting and that is split between oils, watercolors and acrylic. 16 local artists will represent Jamestown.
Everyone who visits the gallery can pick their favorite artwork, at the end of the show we will tally the number and announce the People’s Choice award. Every time you visit you can cast one (1) vote so please visit often. The formal jurying will take place on Saturday with awards announced at 3:30 pm on Sunday. There has been a change in the juror due to illness and ceramic artist and art professor Brad Bachmeier has generously agreed to take over for Brenda Bjorlie.
The gallery is open from 9-5 M-F and 10-2 Saturday with the exception that the reception will take place this Sunday, 3-5 pm. The gallery is always free and open to the general public.
