N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Huskies option offense, put on a show that the Hi-Liners could not stop in a 46-8 Wahpeton win on Friday, September, 19th.
The Hi-Liners defense took away the running game of the Huskies in the first quarter, tackling all-state running back, Brock Lingen, in the back field on a number of carries. The trend continued into the second quarter, so the Huskies turned to their quarterback Jack Christensen. The senior play maker found his stride when he put the first points on the board with a 30 yard touchdown run.
It was just the start of a run for the Huskies offense, Christensen would finish the night with four touchdowns. If that wasn’t enough, in the third quarter he would find Lingen on a 5 yard pass to give the Huskies a 32-0 lead.
The Hi-Liners lone touchdown came in the final quarter of play when Dustin Lindgren plowed through the Wahpeton defense on a two yard run. The loss drops the Hi-liners to 1-3 on the season. The Huskies improved to 4-0.
Valley City returns home next Friday night when they host Maple Valley/Enderlin (2-2) at Hanna Field. The game will be aired on 1490AM KOVC starting at 6:30pm.
