(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown again gave a top team everything they could handle, but turnovers and injuries mounted as the Century Patriots pulled away for a 31-6 victory.

The Jays lost both Logan Anderson and Ross Monson to hip injuries during the course of the game. Those two connected for the only Jamestown score in the opening half, a 38-yard touchdown pass, as the Jays went into the half down just 7-6.

Monson left the game after that touchdown and did not return.

Century got their first score following a Jamestown muffed punt that set up the Patriots up at the Jays 18-yard line. Century scored four plays later on the first of two Tyler Rudolph touchdown catches.

In the second half, the Patriots scored 24 unanswered on two Hunter Babeck touchdown runs, a second Rudolph catch and a Dominic Neameyer field goal.

Jamestown finished with -9 yards of total offense in the second half. The Jays now at 3-2 will host Williston on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 7pm at Ernie Gates Field and will be broadcast on 1400 KQDJ and NewsDakota.com.
