(NewsDakota.com)- Its the first of three realistic postseason goals for the Jamestown High volleyball, who went on the road and in decisive fashion swept Bismarck Century (25-17, 25-21, 25-23) to lock up the No. 1-seed in next month’s WDA Tournament.

Century jumped out to a 9-2 lead in set one, but in a show of resiliency the Jays responded to take the opening set going away. In the following set, Jamestown took a 24-16 lead before the Patriots’ scored five in a row to make it interesting. Cassidy Miller finally hit her serve into the net after five straight points to end the second.

The two teams traded punches in the third set before Josie Hegerle’s tip at the net of a McKayla Keller pass hit the floor to secure the first ever conference championship for Jamestown High volleyball.

Addie Eamon lead the way with 13 kills. McKayla Orr notched 17 digs.

The Jays will finish up the regular season Friday at Minot and Tuesday home against Mandan. Jamestown will be the No. 1-seed and host the WDA Tournament November 14, 15, and 16. The host site was already predetermined.
