CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The anticipation of an agreement was in the air after the school district’s representative told the audience that the board agreed to the Fact Finding Commission recommendations. But then disappointment set in for teachers after members of the school board negotiating team recommended an adjustment with medical insurance.
School district representative attorney Rachel Bruner-Kaufman asked state Fact Finding Commission Chairman Dean Rummel for a clarification concerning one item in the medical insurance section via of an email this week.
VCEA president Kathy Lentz told Bruner-Kaufman that the association would only accept the state Fact Finding Commission report as is without any alterations and that there would be no more negotiations on that point.
Fact Finding Commission chairman Dean Rummel will publish a full page report in the Valley City Times Record after November 13 to explain to the public why the negotiations failed, and who, in his opinion, compromised the possibility for agreement.
