N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dale Marks, Board President for the James River Library System, spoke to the County Commissioners during their board meeting on Tuesday, December 3rd.
Marks brought up his discussion with the City Council, informing them of what he set out to do about the Essentia site. According to Marks, there had been a general agreement between the JRVLS Board and Essentia for them to purchase the site where the old Essentia building is. Recently though, MetroPlains and Essentia has reached a tentative purchase agreement for them to use the site to build new affordable and senior living apartments.
“We need to meet to discuss and determine where we’re at on the whole deal.” Marks said. “We had the first chance and I feel like it was sold out from under us. We were never asked if we wanted it or not. If we’ve lost it, we’ve lost it and we’ll move on.”
The Jamestown City Council and the County Commission will hold a joint meeting later this month to discuss this and other issues.
